Visitors found a mix of liberty and avant-garde audacity, a taste for the unusual and the fantastic and a passion for art as well as intimate encounters with the traditional expertise of yesterday and today. Their plan was to sell printed fabrics, but they suddenly became the talk of the 6th arrondissement when they started offering the unique objects they’d found around the world. And their first foray into the fragrance world in 1963 would transform the boutique at 34 boulevard Saint-Germain into a place to enjoy the unexpected sillage of candles scented with tea, hawthorn and cinnamon.
